A pool of alternate sites is also developed in the event that some primary sites become unavailable. Stream sites selected for other projects are targeted in specific locations to answer specific questions. Thus, barring extreme circumstances, all MBSS sites that are chosen for sampling are sampled according to standard protocols.</measDesc>
