The Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) maintains an inventory of public access sites, defined as sites that provide members of the public direct access to the Chesapeake Bay or its tributaries (5th order streams or larger). These sites must provide one or more of the following access opportunities: boat launching, fishing, swimming, or a trail or observation deck designed to allow views of the water. In 2010, the CBP's inventory began to be updated annually based on submissions from state partners (NY, PA, DE, MD, WV, VA, and DC). Sites in the inventory prior to 2009 are listed with an Inventory Year of 2009, and do not have Completion or Update dates. |
